Marriage of Ramen and Peking Duck Ends In Divorce; Dumplings and Shanghai Food Fill The Void

Chandavkl | Sep 23, 201103:03 PM

Gee, it was just earlier this year we were celebrating the opening of Lu's Kitchen in West Covina where a chef from Santouka collaborated with a Chinese chef to form an eclectic menu. Well that didn't last long. Lu's Kitchen is gone, replaced by Jasmin Garden which features handmade noodles. dumplings, "Eastern China Food" and "Northern & Southern Dishes". Largest portion of the menu, including the brief Eastern China section is Shanghai style food, but there's also the dumplings, including the elusive chicken dumplings. Unfortunately, the chicken dumplings aren't particularly good. They also have interesting items with large color pictures plastered in the window and walls that are not in the menu. The lobster noodle casserole is $19.95, and there's also tomato noodle soup, beef rolls, flaky pastry etc. Jasmin Garden is right next to the HK II market entrance, 987 S. Glendora Ave., space K.
