Mariners' Christmas Challenges

Saylors_Christmas | Dec 12, 201712:16 PM

I am working on a commercial ship. We did not get our full provisions which were expected at our last port, and there's no chance to re-provision until after the New Year. I've just heard that the oven has died. Our poor Chief Cook! She wants so much to make everyone's Christmas merry. She expects that we wont have any eggs left by Christmas time. and we may be short on other ingredients, too. There will be about 30 of us to feed, and she has two able helpers and a full (except for the oven) commercial kitchen to work with. Tastes are varied: we are a mix of Filipinos, Indians, Italians, Croatians, Russians, Canadians, British, and Polish crew. Some are vegetarian, some keep halal, some don't eat beef, most of the Filipinos don't like cinnamon. She normally keeps everybody happy by making a variety of things.

There is a chance to rig up something like a BBQ in our welding shop, and there's the stove, microwave, and rice-cooker. I'm reaching out to you for your ideas for our Christmas feast. Thanks in advance for your help and creativity!
