Today I had a chance to visit the farmers market in Marina. It's year-round on Sundays from 10am to 2pm. Located in the parking lot of Grocery Outlet, it was quite well-attended and seems to be thriving, unlike the two Sunday markets in Salinas that have closed. Seven farmers, a handful of prepared food vendors, a bulk organic spice merchant called Herbs de Provence, and some non-food vendors drew a good crowd.
The market manager here, Everyone's Harvest ( http://www.everyonesharvest.org/ ) is committed to making fresh produce accessible and affordable by accepting EBT and WIC currency of the community, and that brings additional dollars to the farmers who sell here.

I purchased organic carrots ($1/bunch) and two bunches of red kale ($1.50/bunch) from Avalos Organic Farm of Hollister and some Asian veggies from Moua Farm from Fresno. It was very convenient to shop at GO afterwards.
