Serving broken clams is asking the customer to trust the restaurant a lot. Being a trusting person and someone who has a drink at every diner in a rest., I ate the whole clams(6) and put aside the broken ones(6). Admittedly, this was a little silly. If they were tainted the whole lot would be bad. When the proprietor came by to ask how our meal was I mentioned the cracked clams. He became angry. He knows how to cook clams- he has five restuarants. He refused to disclose their names to me. Sure clams can crack when you cook 'em- although I haven't had it personally happen, I wouldn't serve them to friends or family, and other restaurants aren't serving them to customers.
He comped the clams and I didn't get sick.
The point is-1) the owner yells at customers, which would be okay, if the food was good: but 2) the food is not good.
