marco's supperclub: i never thought i'd ever say this...

but the place is skidding down hill. this is sad, as marco's has been on my short list of good food/good service/moderate prices. alas, it has joined Jak's (west seattle) on my DO NOT GO list.

last evening i went to dine at ol' marco's before a rock show. on my arm was a devestating young redhead. i was feeling fine. we were seated and left. and left. and left. finally, the waiter -- painfully hipper-than-thou sauntered over and asked for our drink order. her: glass of white (only 3 selections?) me: maritime. get this: they served the beer in a gee-dee water goblet. in seattle, this is akin to serving bordeaux in a dixie cup. feh.

so anyway, at least we had our drinkies... and the waiter... where the hell did he go?

when he finally showed back up, we ordered. gorgeous redhead: porkchop. thee trouthole: chilie rellenos.
chop: yummy. tender. decently cooked. nothing fantastic, but certainly nothing wrong with it.
chilie rellenos: ummmm.. if the center is still cold and the outside is burned, that makes it bad, right?

even the decor is beginning to get a bit run down looking. paint peeling, needs a broom and some new art... i dunno, i loved marcos, but it sadly seems to be in decline. fatal decline? someone else will have to report on the death, if it comes. as for me, i've prolly paid my last respects.
