My new Tienda catalog came the other day and they were offering among other things Marcona almonds. I was putting an imaginary order together (we are leaving on a road trip in a week, the real order will have to wait until the end of the month) and put the almonds on the list. There had been a bunch of chat about them a while back.
Yesterday I was in Trader Joes and saw some on the shelf, already fried and salted. It was about $8.00 for a 12 oz. bag. I get out to the car and open them up and try a few. What is supposed to be so special about these? They taste like fried almonds, I make those quite often and just don't get it. Can anybody clue me in? What am i missing here?
