Marcella's smothered cabbage

I'll be making Marcella Hazan's smothered cabbage tonight, in reviewing the recipie it calls for one tablespoon wine vinegar but does not specify red or white. I'll be using green or Savoy cabbage, I'm assuming red wine vinegar but have my doubts. Can anyone help me out?
