Taking a friend to Manhattan on Saturday for his birthday and would like some recommendations- preferrably ones with patio dining or a good atmosphere. I searched through Manhattan threads but couldn't really find any mention of patios. Also, what is the restaurant on the same side of the street and one block down from that Pancake House on Highland? I think it has "wine" in the name. Is it any good?
Anyway, cali cuisine, steakhouse, italian, french- anything would be good. Atmosphere is key.
