I stuffed my face with mangoes over the summer and had no problem finding big, sweet fruit all over Manhattan. But for the last month or so I've noticed the quality of mango has dipped dramatically. They are more tart than sweet and much more stringy than before. One thing I've noticed is that most of the mangoes I bought in the summer came from Mexico, while most of the fruit I see now is from Brazil. Is this just the off-season for mangoes? Does anyone know where I can find some good ones?
