Mambo's Tapas [Fort Worth]

TheSmarterGourmet | Jun 28, 2005 11:24 AM

Has anyone been to Mambo's Tapas Cantina in Fort Worth? We'd go there all the time when out late there as it was the only thing downtown open late. It's the back part of the restaurant that opens out the other side of the kitchen and onwed by the same folks who have a second City Place location just south of 20.

Anyway, at night, they serve pretty good tacos, and really good queso. The food is reminiscent of Taco Diner, only the place is tiny (and I mean tiny). It's located in the Park Central Hotel (across from the Convention Center) and has a large patio facing the street. But the entrance is on the side and it looks really cool with a little neon sign. Oh, and they have a really nice bar too which is lit from inside. It looks like molten lava. It's my pick for late-night dining in FW (when you don't want Ol' South).
