i was driving by and noticed that the place was actually being rebuilt, instead of M.L. taking the settlement and cutting an underperforming location like i'd expected. i'd forgotten but tonyc mentions this and a few other interesting facts that are IMO credit-worthy in his most recent article for la eater:

of particular interest beyond the return of the REAL shau may is that apparently the MP, SG & Alh shau may locations are all unrelated to the original. (no idea about the industry rowland heights irvine and whatever other locations exist out there though)
