I just bought a box of Mallomars, and my son opened the box and immediately said, "These are smaller," and they are! Has anyone else noticed this?
I'm absolutely used to weird packaging tricks to increase profit, but Mallomars are ancient and sacred.
On the other hand, everyone's always saying how portion size reduction is the key to health, and that may be true. Naturally my son had negotiated three Mallomars with his tea and immediately upped it to four when he saw the "new improved" cookies.
BTW, I've read that there is a movement in England to legislate portion-size in packaging in order to reduce childhood obesity. Of course a lot of companies are jumping ahead of that and just voluntarily making things smaller. But somehow I don't think Mallomars should be included in such socio-political machinations.
