Malibu seafood....in big strokes....El Torito..surprise!

Took the Kids & the wife over from Balboa Park to Malibu Seafood for lunch yesterday...great weather...
bo the best experience ther though....1st, the guy behind the counter (taking the order) was the "Seafood Nazi"!! The basic...hurry up I have hordes to get to in the next 30 minutes, so get outta my face kinda additude! (We arrived right at 12 noon straight up)

Now unto thte food, the grilled fish tacos were about as "FLAVORLESS" as you could make them without adding...some kind of "flavor removing isotope"!! Literally could not get any descernable flavor from the fish,,Added a ton of "mexican hot sauce" to save the meal, but it was kinda d siappointment. My wife had fish & chips, theat looked good...And my kids eat New England Clam Chowder and hey enjoyed it....BUT...I ordered a small bowl fo the manhattan Clam Chowder with my Taco and thought I had just broke open a can of some really poor quality super market brand Clam Chowder...easily in an 10oz or so portion, I must have skimmed off 1-1/2 teaspoons of "oil"??? Ecch!!!

I will have to find another "roadside fish place to travel to on those days to celebrate....(one of my twins girls learned to ride her bike yesterday)

Now as for El-Torito, wheil I usually dont expect all that much from them, this year they get my award for BEST GRILLED FISH TACOS!!! Always really tastey, Seabass, or Halibut, great flavoring, and lately in Woddland Hills the service has been the polar opposite
what we have come to expect from theis place! Very attentive, great food, and really good drinks most of the time (I rarely drink, but good to know when that
Teqiula bug hits, my thirst wont be going to waste)!

The FISH TACOS at El Torito the dinner for $9.00 will make 3 of them on the plate, with rice, and beans, and it is really good....mmmmmm TACO-lishous!!!! And my kids really like the Sundae with Churros that comes with the "kids meal"......

Anybody have any idea's for seafood between "Topanga & Kana on PCH very casual", in a roadside kinda place like Malibu Seafood, let me have the "411"! Or something as fun as Malibu in the same area...also not too pricey, but outdoorsy, and kinda healthy.....

Danka - Hounds!
