Now there is another good reason to head to Pacific East Restaurant in Cleveland Heights. Chef/Owner Freeman Ngo recently hired a chef from NY to create a Malaysian menu. The food is exceptionally good. This is the first Malaysian cuisine to be offered in Ohio, according to Freeman. Malaysian cooking is a unique blend of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Eurasian styles. Tasty sauces, fresh and bright flavors, nice presentation.
So, when you go the Pacific East you'll be presented with the Japanese menu and the Malaysian menu.
I eat there twice a week.
Lately, I've been getting a couple of pieces of sushi for an appetizer then switching to Malaysian main courses for dinner. Or, sometimes I'll try a couple of Malaysian appetizers and have sushi for a main.
All quite good.
