I had seen Tropical Malaysian, on Bay Parkway around 66th street (right near the N train stop) before and it piqued my curiosity, so I went in tonight. They actually made the food spicy after I requested that way, which always warms my heart (in more ways than one). I got the roti canai and a dish called "authentic squid" on the menu. The roti canai was good, very spicy dipping sauce, although lacking that delicate touch that I love at, say, Nyonya in Manhattan. The squid was quite good, with a spicy sauce that was reminiscent of the Manchurian sauce at Tangra Masala.
I don't know if I'd make the trek out there again for it, but I enjoyed it while I was there.
