Malan Noodle Craze

Yakitiyak | Mar 19, 2005 04:19 PM

Hi, you all:

After hearing so much about Malan noodle and Jonathan Gold's recent write up. I decided to give Malan a try.

The place at lunch time today had only 5 other table of people, not busy.

I tried the recommended dish by J. Gold, which was the house special of Leek with Garlic Chicken and Belt noodles. It was GREAT seeing the chef stretching out the belt noodles by hand. Yes, they are as wide as your belt! ( the chef is mexican by the way). The noodles were great tasting. I have to agree with others on the board that the noodles outshine any other accompaniments that they come with.

The joint is worth trying even if only to see the chef hand make your noodles.
