Making a pouding chomeur in advance

tetraneutron | Oct 22, 201810:15 PM     4

I want to make a pouding chomeur (similar in structure to a sticky toffee pudding - the kind of cake that's baked in a syrup or with a syrup poured over it once it comes out of the oven, so the cake absorbs the syrup and is moist). But I have to make it a few hours in advance of the party I'm going to. It will definitely be cold by then and this is the type of dessert served warm. How should I handle it? Stick it in the oven a bit to reheat, or will that overcook the cake? Make extra syrup, heat it, and pour it over just before serving? Except then it won't absorb and the whole cake will probably be too sweet. Any suggestions? FYI this: https://smittenkitchen.com/2015/04/ma... is the recipe I'm following although if you know of better ones let me know!
