making fresh salmon salad the day before

I know you are supposed to cook fish the day that you eat it but I have the salmon today and I'm serving it tomorrow. Is it better for me to keep the fish raw in the fridge overnight or to cook it and store it as salmon salad?

Also, does anyone have any recipes for salmon salad that they would recommend?
