Making Croissants....

I've always thought making croissants would be too time consuming and not worth the effort. Until, recently coming across an abbreviated recipe that looks too good not to attempt. (The gruyere and prosciutto have everything to do with it!) Any thoughts from those that have made croissants from scratch before? Worth the trouble? Any tips to share?
