Major New Restaurant Coming To Reston Town Center

Joe H. | Mar 18, 2003 10:31 PM

Penang which has another D. C. location at 1837 M Street is opening a branch in the new office building at Reston Town Center. This is a New York based mini chain with other restaurants in Philly, Boston and elsewhere. Curiously the Malaysian food would seem to directly compete with Lettuce Entertain You's Big Bowl about a hundred yards away.
Soho Cafe is opening a restaurant that will serve dinner at Plaza of the Americas also.
As much as I like Rio Grande, Big Bowl and so forth it would be nice if Reston Town Center could open a restaurant with a locally based chef/owner as opposed to another chain outpost. Kinkead's at one time wanted to open where Morton's is but, for whatever reason, couldn't settle and ended up with Colvin Run in Tyson's.
