Restaurants & Bars

My husband and daughter went with me to celebrate birthdays and we had a really nice time. This was our second visit in about 1 1/2 months. The menu had changed from our prior visit and they no longer had the fresh corn soup with fried clams which we had the last time and was super delicious. But since it is more of a summer item, I can understand it not being available.

Since a previous reviewer commented unfavorably on the wine glasses, I just wanted to mention that we brought 3 different bottles (given that just 2 of us were drinking we didn't finish them) including a desert wine and were given 3 different glasses all of which seemed appropriate.

Anyway as to the food and service, both very good and personable. While the menu is somewhat limited (either 6 or 8 entres) it includes two fresh fish, lamb, steak frites, duck, and one vegetarian pasta dish which I think is very nice since it sometimes is hard to please the vegetarian in our family. My husband and I shared mussels $8 and for the amount of mussels, they seemed a relative bargain. Most of the entres are in the low to mid $20s with the deserts around $7 or $8. One thing I noticed from the last time was that the cheese tray had gone up $3 or $4 which is a steep increase percentage wise but considering it is enough for 3 or 4 people to share, it is still worth trying.

Since it was a Friday not a Saturday night, I was able to secure the last table with only about 1/2 week's notice but I suspect it is going to get more difficult as the place gets more popular. Anyway, we will be going back again in the not too distant future.
