The article in the Boston Globe about the limited market for Maine shrimp makes me so sad. What an amazing local resource for us all during this time of year when having local lobster isn't the right thing to do and the supply of local produce is practically non-existent! So get out there and buy some Maine shrimp to cook at home. Or ask for it at your favorite restaurant.
So far we've been buying our Maine shrimp at Whole Foods - all the locations we frequent seem to have it. So far this season we've prepared it as shrimp dip, peel and eat, and just last Friday as taco filing with serrano, cilantro, tomato and plenty of lime. It also makes a wonderful ceviche.
