Main Street Coffee and Bakery- Framingham

Someone told me about this place and I have stopped in there twice so far. A jewish style bakery at the intersection of Rte 126 and 30 in the same shopping center as Bella Costa.

A sign proudly exclaims "We do not use frozen dough or mixes, everything made by hand on premises" or something to that effect.

Lots of stuff looked good here, but so far I have had an everything bagel as well a nice egg bagel with poppy seeds. Not as good as Rosenfelds, but definitely second place for the Boston area. Not a smattering of "everything" either. Heavily crusted on outside with a good texture on the inside.

While I was deciding between a black and white or some rugelach, a lady came in and asked for a dozen "Frozen Doughs" (above described plaque nonwithstanding). Layers and layers of buttery, cinnamon flecked dough in a croissant shape.

I figured if this lady was ordering 12, they might be good so i tried. Intensely cinnamony, buttery and yeasty. An excellent pastry.

They also make challah, rye (looked good), babkas, danishes and assorted other baked goods.

Main St. is certified kosher and is closed on Saturdays. A nice addition to an otherwise abyss of good baked goods in Framingham.
