I'm in Los Angeles and my brother is in Boston. It's his birthday this coming weekend and I need help coming up with an interesting, food, mail-order suggestions.
He's a 'hound at heart -- and enjoys all sorts of cuisines (he especially misses good L.A. Mexican and Thai - but loves everything (Japanese, Indian, etc etc.))... Last year he requested fruit cakes from Colin Street Bakery in Corsicana, TX and really enjoyed the assortment I sent (pineapple pecan cake, apricot pecan, and a fruitcake). Other requests have been for different jams and jellies (like jalapeno mint). We've also fulfilled requests for tortillas (he LOVES them).
I'd love to find an food gift to send him that would knock his socks off! It doesn't necessarily have to be 'different', 'unique', or 'ethnic' - just YUM! (It also doesn't have to be a dessert type thing either, any sort of 'food' would do)! Although, he wouldn't be into artisan cheese so much.
I'd like to keep the cost at $100 or less, but if you have an idea that exceeds that, please don't hesitate to post.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
