Was shopping at the local Shop and Save yesterday and as usual I was drawn to the seafood section. There I saw, for the first time, "Maine Mahogany clams". Where did these come from? Are they being farmed somewhere? Are they freshwater clams? The youngster behind the counter had no idea. I recall seeing these clams in a Chinese grocery in St. Louis and figured they came from out west somewhere. Any info? Are they good? Interchangeable with manila clams in a pasta dish, for instance? pat
