Looking for a magazine for my 80+ dad, not too adventurous

So I'm the type who seeks out odd ingredients, watches Mind of the Chef, enjoys exploration... He often asks me what I'm cooking for dinner and I have to translate. But he likes to "experiment". I gave him some Penzey's fajita blend because he really liked the fajitas I made when he last visited. He does not have a super outfitted kitchen (no food processor, limited spices etc.) but wants to branch out a bit. I'm thinking that Bon Appetit is probably a good middle-of-the-road mag, but wondering whether there's something better. (I get BA and enjoy it, just sayin')
