Mad Willies Ice Cream

I tried Mad Willie's tonight for the first time. It's in Framingham Center next to Center Pizza. Their menu offers ice cream- hard and soft serve, milk shakes and frappes, sundaes, frozen yogurt, smoothies, and Italian Ice. But, heir main focus though is the soft serve with a wide variety of mix-ins ranging from candy to nuts to cookies to fruit to the exotic mix-in.

The soft serve only comes in vanilla or chocolate but vanilla seems more mix-in friendly in that I don't see combining pineapple bits with chocolate ice cream. Some of the mix-ins include: M&M, Butterfinger, Kit Kat, Marshmallow. Malt Vanilla, Butterscotch, Fireball, Apple Pie, Cheesecake, Nutella, Macadamia Nut, Pumpkin, Honeydew, Kiwi, Mango, and Coconut to name a few. The hard ice cream offers 16 flavors that include: vanilla, chocolate, black raspberry, pistachio, and maple walnut among others.

The soft serve was thick and creamy and has good mouth feel. I chose vanilla with pineapple mix-ins served in a waffle cone. The only downside was that I didn't detect even the subtlest hint of vanilla flavor. The waffle cone was very tasty though- it made up for the lack of vanilla flavor. I felt I got very good value for the money- I got a regular size for about three dollars.

They even offer tale home flavors in pints and quarts.

Mad Willies is definitely worth a look-see in my opinion
