Mackerel in Sushi

I love mackerel sushi, the fishier, the better. King and Atlantic mackerel now have documented high levels of mercury in them. I'm not as fond of Spanish mackerel, though it is mercury safe. Does anyone know what type of mackerel is currently used in common sushi ("saba") in California?
