Lychee juice or syrup in Minneapolis?

rjayasuriya | May 11, 200905:53 AM     7

I've been trying to find Lychee juice or syrup in Minneapolis for a while. I've tried a lot of the Asian grocery stores, Byerly's, Kowalski's, Lake winds and some other stores without any luck. I know I can get this online but I wanted to see if I can find this locally first. Any help with this is greatly appreciated as I don't want to keep paying close to $10 for good Lychee martinis :)

Which of the Asian grocery stores have you tried? Although I haven't looked for lychee juice specifically, I would guess that United Noodles carries it. Try giving them a call.

United Noodles definitely has Lychee drinks - not sure, however, whether they're mostly/all lychee juice or just "juice drinks" with other ingredients.

They also have canned lychees - perhaps you could use the syrup from the can, with the lychees as garnish?

Thank you for the recommendation. I will definitely call Unite Noodles.

Although I can use syrup from the canned lychees or lychee drinks (mostly canned drinks) I would like to stay away from these since they have a higher sugar concentrate and doesn't have the nice subtle lychee taste I'm looking for.

I know the Indian market/restaurant Curry Up in Maple Grove sells a bottled Lychee drink because I bought a small bottle of it there once just to try it. I don't remember what % juice it had or how much sugar was added, but I remember it being fairly sweet. You could call them up and ask. http://www.curryupfoods.com/

It may be at some of the Indian markets on Central but I don't know.
