After reading a few reviews of other posters V-day dinners and thinking about my husband and my experience last night, I think we're "done" going out on the night of... maybe, in the future, we'll celebrate the sat before.
Our service at Lucque's last night felt like we were in at a diner in lunch-time. The server was rushed, rude, downright unfriendly -- didn't bother to even say "good evening" when he hovered over us. And we're spending well over $200 for dinner --hello, can you at least suggest a nice white without feeling like I'm rushed to order a milkshake? The server didn't bother explaining the menu or asking if we had any question -- nothing.
Yes, the food was very good though the dessert was pretty small -- there was no choice, they brought out gourmet ice cream sundae to split but they only served three small scoops! My husband, who's hardly a dessert person, easily polished off his share and I was looking forward to splurging on dessert (something we rarely do).
I just talked to the manager who was very nice and said they were short staffed last night, but didn't offer anything else. Would have been classy to comp us on a dessert, app, drinks, (something!) on our next visit & would have assuured them that we'd be back. I always think this says a lot about the establishment if you call with a complaint and they admit that they were culpable and do nothing to try to get the biz back. Okay, I'll say it -- tacky!
Anybody else dine there last night?
