hi, everyone...my parents and i and a cousin of mine are going to lupa for my birthday next sunday, and i need your help...we live in the suburbs, and most of the italian we eat (at home and out) is typical southern italian style red sauce fare...which is fine, but i know lupa serves food that we are not used to eating. also, my cousin is a VERY picky eater...no fish, only cheese he eats is grated, loves just plain spaghetti w/ sauce, etc...i just checked their menu online, but someone on this board said they change the menu like 4 times/year, so i'm thinking it was useless to even print it out. any suggestions? what i was thinking of trying, hoping they're on the menu were these:
appetizers - carciofi alla romana; citrus cured sardines; swordfish w/ mustard seed
primi - bavette cacio & pepe (sounds outrageous); ricotta gnocchis (my mom i think would like to order this)
secondi - oxtail for my father (he's a big guy and eater); swordfish "alla piastra" w/ wild celery (for me, cuz i love swordfish, but have my doubts about the celery, which i dont really care for)
i have no idea how big or small the portions are there. for instance, are the primi pasta dishes on the large size, or are they just enough for one? i don't want to overeat either (need to save room for dessert :)
any suggestions would be great. sorry about posting another lupa post, but this is for my birthday, so i'd like it to be somewhat special. many thanks in advance!
