Having just awakened from a coma, it is only very recently that I learned (on this board) of the Borough Market, which is something I would have very much enjoyed visiting, had I known. Sadly, our upcoming visit to London has us leaving town on Thursday just as the market opens.
We will be visiting the Tate Modern on either Tuesday or Wednesday, though, and I am wondering if there are any places in the vicinity of the Market, ideally no more than 20 minutes walk from the Tate, which serve an interesting lunch and are open on non market days. In our home town, we also have a food market which is open only 3 days a week, but it is located in an area which also has permanent food stalls and restaurants which are open even on non-market days, and are worth a visit. Is this also the case with Borough Market, or is everything of interest really only there Thursday-Saturday?
Thanks for any help anyone can offer. I did do a search of the board but have a hard time figuring out if the many recommendations are for places only open on market days; it looks to me like that is what most/all of them are.
