Two weeks ago we made a new discovery worth reporting, just getting around to it.
One of the places to go in Fresno if you want a bit of choice is the shopping center at the southewest corner of Palm and Herndon. Anchored by the classy Brix, and featuring By the Sea with its Mediterranean Cafe ancestry and Don Fernando's, Southwest Cuisine from an Erna's trained chef, the other restaurant spaces are home to less long lived attempts at feeding the inner man.
One of those is called The Roxy, and it was quite a treat for a late and hungry lunch. The menu, for some reason, did not seem promising. Leaving the pennies off the prices detracts, somehow, and the layout and descriptions made me wonder if I was going to get enough.
The appetizer, house made potato chips and melted cheese, was superb. The rest of the meal, an Italian sausage for me, a take off on chinese chicken salad for my wife, was excellent. The service was friendly and accomodating, the decor pleasant and attractive.
All in all, a solid recommendation.
