Lunch with Mom tomorrow in West Village (probably)

My mom is coming to NYC for a few hours tomorrow and I'm looking for a great place for lunch (it'll probably be raining tomorrow) that is very NYC.

I'm thinking Tartine, any thoughts? Or Pastis if it's not pouring. Perhaps Westville if we want casual (out of these 3 I've only been to Westville, and I love it).

I do *not* want to go to AOC on Bleecker (very over-rated, and the time I went to August for dinner during restaurant week it was extremely mediocre, too, sadly) nor do we want anything ethnic-y (so basically we want French/American, perhaps Italian). I don't think I want Blue Ribbon either.

If it's a gorgeous day and we have time, we might taxi up to David Burke and Donatella's for their $24 price fix lunch -- it's a bit stuffy but very interestingly NYC to me.

Anyhow, I digress. Lunch options in the WV anyone?
