Hi! Please help a D.C. hound.
We're flying up to New York tomorrow and dropping our bags off in the Battery Park area. We'll need lunch. I know not all restaurants are open for weekend lunch, so could use some help.
We have plans to run around Soho and the East Village. We'll happily take a detour for a great bite, though. Where should we have lunch? We're in town for a wedding, and with all the family events (Katz's, Bubby's), won't get to have an upscale dinner. So, are there any nice restaurants that serve Saturday lunch? I have memories of a great fixed price lunch at Aquavit last visit. Any places you'd recommend?
After seeing a rerun Tony Bourdain episode, I was tempted to visit Honmura An for some cold soba, but my dining companion isn't thrilled with the idea.
We're not committed to going high end, so feel free to suggest anything. (We're already planning on stopping by Cones and Mamoun's for a snack, but not necessarily on Saturday)
TIA!! And thanks for reading this rambling post!
