I enjoy a nice lunch from time to time..:) and I've been wanting to get to L'Espalier before the move.
We went today and I had the tasting and Ms 9 went with the ala carte menu. Everything is perfectly executed and the service was flawless..as usual. The dining room isn't flashy. It's like dining in a friends home; if your friend happens to be a wealthy Brahmin with a great chef and staff.
The only dish I missed a pic of was my final course..a braised shortrib, accompanied by frites...and a CA Cab
I'll avoid making comparisons with other restaurants; but if this is a place that you've enjoyed over the years, I'd encourage you to give L'Espalier another shot before they move. It's unlikely that this kind of atmosphere will be duplicated.
BTW..they are hoping for a June relocation.
