Lunch at Ikea, Its better than you think.

Walked into Ikea Costa Mesa at 11:15 AM this morning. I had a powerful Swedish meatball jones working. Ordered the standard fifteen ball lunch for $4.99. The meatballs were firm textured with a mild beefy flavor and nicely balanced with a rich creamy gravy that worked perfectly with the the little meatballs. A side of sweet/tart ligonberry compote was served on the side, perfect. The potatos were of the red rose variety and once again done to perfection. Now for the real surprise! Im not really a dessert person, but for some reason I was drawn to their coconut sorbet which is cleverly served in a halfed coconut shell. This sorbet was rock hard, but softened nicely while i inhaled my lunch. A very creamy texture made this treat like velvet on the tongue, rich in coconut flavor with a mild vanilla aftertaste. Its texture reminded me of a very high quality gelato rather than a typical sorbet. This little gem set me back a wallet busting $2.00! I found this lunch as enjoyable as some that I have spent $15.00 to 20.00 on. Needless to say, while not true gourmet fare, I will return soon to duplicate this dandy little lunch.
