We (2 adults, 3 kids--17, 16,12) are visiting Barcelona for spring break. On the day we go to La Sagrada Familia, I picked out Goliard for lunch and sent them an email (because I don't speak Spanish and felt it was safer to send an email). I did not hear back for a few days, so then I made a reservation at La Gormanda. Goliard just confirmed my reservation today (didn't hear from them for over a week). Which one should I cancel? I am leaning towards canceling La Gormanda. It looks like Goliard is closer to where we will be (I know we will be doing a lot of walking). My current plan is after visiting La Sagrada Familia, we will check out the Jamonarium. Then, head over to lunch at Goliard.
Our whole family loves/appreciates good food. But, we don't want to spend a fortune so we are skipping the fancier restaurants. The only other reservation I have is for the hotel restaurant in Montserrat. I have taken notes from this wonderful Chowhound Barcelona forum and put them all in a Google map. We have one planned tourist thing every day and then we were just planning to wing it by looking at my map and seeing what is near by. Which brings me to one more question--are we going to have a problem eating dinner earlier, around 6-7pm? In my notes, I wrote down the hours of the restaurants I'm interested in and many say they are open from let's say 12pm-2am. But, then when I was reading reviews of one of the restaurants, a person wrote that while the restaurant was open, dinner service didn't start until 8:30pm. Does that mean that only tapas would be available at 6pm if the restaurant is open? A light dinner would be fine. I was planning on having big lunches. I just know we are going to be exhausted at night.
