better lunch combo than Shau May ?

TonyC | May 5, 200406:01 PM

$3.99 3 item combo + $1 boba nai cha = best $5 spent on fast Chinese food? probably not. but it's exactly what i'm looking for: semi-authentic, overly-greasy, highly MSG'd Taiwanese country cooking served over steamed tables with 4 hrs old lunch and dishwashing water for soup. are there better places than Shau May - and I mean the original on the NE corner of garvey/garfield? I just moved up from OC to SGV & want to get my fill of cheap Chinese food before moving along...

i truly love this particular corner tho. the dilapidating asphault, the worst drivers in the world (old Chinese women, much like my mother, in their oversized Honda Odysseys), the most Scion xB's per square mile, the grandma shaman in the dining room dishing out feng shui advice....
