Lunch at the Arclight Theater Cafe

No matter where you work, the restaurants in the area eventually grow old. And so it is with me. Off Vine, Chan Dara, Paladar, Café des Artistes and Fabiolus Café are great places for lunch, but after so many visits, it’s just time for a change. So today my buddy and I decided to have lunch at the Arclight theater café, and we were pleasantly surprised.

You can either sit inside or outside. We elected inside. The booths are very comfortable.

For lunch, they have appetizers like empanadas and mini-raviolis, salads, sandwiches, pasta and burgers. There is also a full bar. Everything on the menu seems to be in the $5-10 dollar range.

I ordered the Arclight special salad, and my buddy ordered the Chinese chicken salad. The special salad had chunks of chicken, bacon, gouda cheese, red onion, corn and a variety of greens. It is served with a ranch dressing. It was very good, especially the $7.95 price, which I thought to be very reasonable.

The Chinese chicken salad looked pretty standard, with chunks of chicken, mandarin oranges and fried wontons. Like the special salad, it was good-sized. I think it was also $7.95.

We didn’t stay for a movie, but it did present an intriguing temptation to play hooky from work for the remainder of the afternoon. Maybe Friday…..
