I'm meeting up with some family tomorrow at Peter Luger's and, as I live in Manhattan and can walk to a JMZ station, I was thinking that's how I would travel over.
Concerned parties, however, have suggested that I don't take the subway, as the area "isn't so great" and I may get shot or some such thing. Now, I walk the Lower East Side by myself at four in the morning fairly often and without much worry, and we're talking three in the afternoon that I'll be getting to Luger's. Is there really any reason for concern?
Also, as long as I'm here:
Bacon, creamed spinach, lamb chops as appetizer, chocolate mouse cake with schlag, hot fudge sundae, and steaks for two despite the group size.
