Luger Virgin Needs Advice...THANKS!

Bob(NJ) | Apr 2, 2002 04:23 AM

(Since the thread's a little old, I reposted at the top. Hope that's OK :-)

Thanks to everyone for the great advice! I'll check back in next week with our review!

And what a week it will be. Starting today, Tuesday, through Saturday night, these ex-NY'ers (OK, OK, actually Queens ;-) transplanted to what our friends fondly refer to as "virtually Pennsylvania" (the LAST exit on Interstate 78) will be doing a week of touring and tasting the Big Apple.

While our accomodations leave a little to be desired (we're staying in a NJ hotel to save money, and using Icon Parking & MetroCard Fun Passes to get around), I think we're biting off some of the best NY has to offer.

CityPasses all around will offer up the Museum of Natural History (extra for the Space Show), the Guggenheim, Whitney & MOMA. Also the Intrepid, the 7pm Harbor Lights Circle Line Cruise and the Empire State Building.

We're supplementing that with visits to the Jewish Museum and the NY Historical Society, and have pencilled in a Met game at Shea and a Philharmonic Open Rehearsal. And oh, yeah, tickets to "Love, Janis", "Chris Angel's Mindfreak" and "Blue Man". With all that we're going to be HUNGRY!

With what I found on these boards (with a little assist from the, our chowdowns include Al's Soup Kitchen, Candido's Pizza, Bereket, Lupa's, Utsav's, Katz's, Zum Stammtisch, NY Noodletown, all topped off with a pre-Blue Man feast at Luger's.

Think we'll be able to snap a photo with one of the waiters at Luger's? Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen, place your bets... ;-)
