Lucy: terrible service

JK | Jul 28, 2004 01:13 PM

Went to Lucy on Friday night with high expectations but left vowing never to return. The service was terrible, most likely due to the fact that there was a party of 12+ seated next to us. But the rest of the restaurant was sparsely populated so it's not like the restaurant was full.

The waiters ignored us when we sat down (yes we had a reservation) and we had to actually get up and hunt someone down for the menus. Then we were left dehydrated - no one took the drink order. One of us was unfortunate enough to sit by the freezing cold air conditioner vent and asked the waiter for hot tea. He brought ice cold water. We asked him again - he took the water back and returned with hot water. After 30 minutes passed, we received the appetizers which were quickly devoured ( I don't remember if they were tasty) so we asked for bread. The waiter gave the bread and came by FOUR times in the next half hour we waited for the entrees and tried to take the bread. Very frustrating. Finally, the entrees came - they were not good. We were so frustrated by the service, quickly paid the bill (the only good thing about the service was the ability to quickly pay the bill and leave). The coat check was closed (even though they took our umbrellas earlier). No one was around to open it, despite the fact that we made a scene trying to get into the coat room and finally crawled under it to gain access to the umbrellas.

So frustrating - what a disappointment!
