Last year, in a review of a Manhattan restaurant, Jonathan Gold waxed poetically about the BLT at Lucques. As their late summer menu had turned to fall by the time I read his review, I was not able to try it until just last week. I know I sing the praises of Lucques here frequently, but I daresay Suzanne Goin's BLT has to be one of the great food pleasures of all time. It is relatively simple, but the ingredients are so fresh and so superior that even my friend with whom I was eating, who slightly turned up his nose at the idea of ordering a BLT, remarked it was one of the best things he had ever tasted. I don't think it is on the menu during Dine Out LA (through Aug 28th) but I highly recommend a lunch at Lucques soon after.
