Lucky Danger, Chinese American Take Out in Pentagon City

Steve | Feb 4, 202212:21 PM

Had takeout here twice (this is purely a carry-out operation) and there are some nice choices here. Tried the Orange beef, duck fried rice, catfish with pickled mustard, bamboo with leek, and omelette with dried radish.

The duck fried rice is excellent, made with smoked duck which imparted full smoky aroma to the rice. The omelette was super satisfying, plainly delicious though the dried radish are small rubbery bits that are more gimmick than anything else. The orange beef was a step up, though carryout will undo some of the crispiness.

The fish was sweetened but it served as a nice foil to the hit of salty and sour vegetables. The bamboo and leek was not as advertised, being more sweet than anythign else.

Everything is in smaller portions than what you'd get from your normal Chinese-American outfit, with most items being priced at an even $10.
