Lovely NYE dinner at Sullivan's in King of Prussia

Thanks to all the ChowHounds who recommended Sullivan's at one time or another. On the basis of those posts my DH and I went this evening for dinner. Tonight is the 15th anniversary of meeting each other and we like to celebrate it *on the 5s* so to speak. Made our reservation thru opentable, which was so nice and easy, left a note for the maitre'd about my nut allergy. When we were seated he made sure to mention it to our waitress. Also - after 6pm it was a prixe fix menu, and when I emailed and asked they sent me a copy of it - very helpful with food allergies, etc. (actually it was the maitre'd because when I mentioned it he remembered my email address.)

so... what did we eat? I had:
crab cake - amazing - huge lumps of crab, very little filler. I'm not sure what the sauces were on the plate besides a drizzle of remoulade, but so nice.
field greens with honey balsamic vinegrette - very nice
Bone in Kansas City Strip - soooo good! The spice mix was a little salty, but enhanced the flavor of the steak.
Bogle Merlot recommended by Michelle the waitress. Very nice.

he had:
french onion soup - delicious with a beautiful brown crust on the cheese.
cesear salad - very good
Bone in Cowboy Ribeye - also terrific

we shared
1/2 pound king crab legs - we've never been served crab legs that were cut in 1/2, made for much neater eating. some of the best we've eaten
Horseradish Mashed Potato
and green beans

we were not crazy about the mashed potatos, and I thought the green beans could have been cooked just a couple more minutes, but other than that we had a terrific dinner.

OH. I almost forgot dessert. I had the apple crumb topped with caramel swirl ice cream. the flavors were great, but it was more apple mush than apple crumb. He had the caramel swirl ice cream by itself.

Service was great, water glasses were always full, the comped our first round of drinks because we mentioned the anniversary in passing and brought sparklers to the table when they delivered dessert. sort of silly, but fun.

Anyway, we will certainly be going back. I hope everyone else had as nice a NYE dinner as we did!
