Funny and sensitive, she comes close to MFK Fisher at defining the food/emotion link. She includes her American grandma's pot roast, the Italian neighbor's panna cotta, and of course the fragrant food of her Bedouin/Jordanian family. Her novel "Crescent" is about beautiful food, too. Can't wait to try the recipes!
