On Saturday, we had a delicious dinner at Alberto's on Forest Ave. in Pacific Grove. Although it is located in a nondescript strip mall at the top of Forest Ave. across from Safeway, the interior is attractive, and even at 7:30pm wasn't noisy/crowded.
Warm bread, with seasoned olive oil/basalmic mix, was brought to the table. There were about 6 specials in addition to the regular menu. We ordered from the specials - husband had a veal 'pizzeola' (sp?). He really liked the combination of mushrooms, tomatoes, wine sauce and perfectly done veal served w/ penne. But my choice was definitely the best: described as 'shrimp scampi' it was large prawns, seasoned and grilled and served with a pinot grigio reduction sauce that was perfectly balanced and absolutely delicous..served in a bowl with linguine. Just great. We also split one tiraimisu...good flavor, but too creamy for my preference. A large bottle of Pelligrino and a glass of Chianti and the bill was around $65. We were happy eaters..
