There isn't all that much posted on the board (plus the name makes it really hard to search), and when it first opened, The Kitchen was pretty spotty, but I've been there a couple times lately and really like it.
They've had some consistent specials for the last few weeks that are pretty great...a pepper-crusted pork loin w/ goat cheese & a pancetta-wrapped halibut. New-ish on the menu is a really great beef stew.
It can be annoying to wait for a table if it's busy, but for the quality of the food it's cheap, especially since it's BYOB (corkage is $3 or so, but they seem to not charge for it an awful lot).
It's my favorite neighborhood casual place, especially on Mondays when most other restaurants are closed.
