Louisville Liquor Stores

MarcInSunnysideGardens | Mar 30, 200912:53 PM     5

I'm from New York City, where all but a few liquor stores do a poor job of importing the best Kentucky bourbon, and those that carry a bit of the best stuff charge way too much for it. Meaning a very special bottle will be, like, 25% more expensive in NY than in Chicago.

Anyway, I'm headed to Louisville for the Derby. This being my 17th Derby, I know my way around town, but I realize I don't know a great liquor store in town. One that carries the best bourbons. Sure, the Liquor Barn is fun, but really, they don't have the stuff I'm looking for--George T Stagg, for example. Or Thomas Handy Rye.

Please, Kentuckians, help me out here. What's the best store to go in Louisville for an amazing bourbon selection?
